Mandatory gear adds up fast in an ultra. Here is how I keep its weight to a minimum, based on the UTMB World Series Finals (UTMB Mont-Blanc) list. It works for most trail races too.
Two totals:
- 100% compliant kit: 1,112 g.
- “Borderline” kit: 907 g. I don’t recommend it; I’m only letting you know it exists.
